Hawthorn Road
Street guide, Bognor Regis
Hawthorn Road runs through the South Bersted residential area, a district of predominantly twentieth-century housing between the town centre and the newer developments to the north. The road is lined with semi-detached and terraced houses, most dating from the inter-war period, with some post-war infill. Hawthorn Road has a quiet, suburban character, carrying local traffic to and from the surrounding residential streets. South Bersted is one of the more densely built parts of the town, and Hawthorn Road sits within a grid of similar residential streets that were developed as Bognor grew outward from its Victorian core. The area has access to local primary schools and small neighbourhood shops. Hawthorn Road connects to Longford Road and the wider network of streets in this part of the town, providing routes towards both the town centre and the Felpham Road corridor.
