Aldwick Road
Street guide, Bognor Regis
Aldwick Road runs westward from the town centre towards the separate settlement of Aldwick village. The road carries a moderate amount of traffic and is flanked by a mix of inter-war and post-war residential properties, many of them substantial detached houses with good-sized gardens. As the road moves west, the character shifts from suburban to more village-like, and the housing stock becomes more varied and in places more desirable. Aldwick Road is a key link between the town and the quieter western residential areas including Aldwick village, Rose Green, and Nyetimber. There are a few local shops and service businesses along its length, but it is primarily residential in character. The road passes close to Craigweil House, the site where King George V convalesced in 1929, an episode that earned the town its 'Regis' suffix. Properties along Aldwick Road tend to command higher prices than those closer to the town centre.
